Frequently asked questions

before scheduling an appointment with me:
Here are some things to keep in mind before booking an appointment!
  • Please be ready to send reference photos or images to help me piece together the composition of your design. If there is an image you want incorporated, please save it. If you're able to find examples of your idea done as a tattoo (even if it's done in a different style) it would help the both of us to sculpt the idea into something more definitive.
  • If you're not financially ready to make the commitment to getting tattooed, please don't start a piece you're not immediately ready to finish.  Momentum is everything in building a tattoo. I've had a number of different clients who come back to finish a piece I began more than 6 months ago and it becomes a hassle to try and adapt a previous design to the current style you're developing, sometimes I'll have to end up redoing all of the work from the previous session depending on how Sun-damaged the piece may be, and sometimes I won't even remember where to pick up or where I left off.  Don't start a project you don't intend to finish. I would rather you wait and budget the tattoo properly in order to get the piece done right.
  • I have a 3 hour minimum for sessions.  I prefer to do long sittings and I know not everyone can sit for 5 or 6 hours, but the more time you're able to commit to a piece the faster it'll get done.
  • When it comes to availability, Weekends are always the first thing to go on my calendar. I'm more likely to have availability on weekdays than weekends.  So if it's far enough in advance, and you're able to request a day off work, you'll have more likelihood of getting booked sooner!
  • Please don't make plans that cut into our session time. Nobody likes to be rushed through their work.
  • Most importantly: Please listen to your Artist's suggestions! Just because you can visualize something in your head, doesn't necessarily mean it'll translate well into a tattoo. If I say it needs to be bigger, go bigger. If I suggest to leave something in, or take something out, there's a purpose behind it.  I've seen and done thousands of tattoos, I've seen tattoos heal well, and I've seen tattoos age poorly. Hopefully you've seen enough of my work to trust me in making some creative decisions! I won't lead you into getting a bad tattoo!
HOW DO I SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOU?
Three easy steps:
1 - Read through the rest of these Frequently asked Questions. I assure they'll cover a few questions you may already have.

2 - Fill out a Consultation form on my Contact Page  (Please be as detailed as possible and fill in all questions asked if applicable)

3 - After the consultation form is completed, I will get in contact with you (via email, text message or Instagram if inquiring through Direct Message) and coordinate a consult beforehand  if necessary.

4 - In order to schedule an appointment, be ready to leave a deposit for the date(s) we’ve agreed on. You can either leave payment in person during our consult or I also take deposits through CashApp, Venmo, or PayPal

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
Currently working at a Private Studio in Coral Springs, FL. I will provide you with the address before the consult or appointment!
HOW MUCH IS YOUR DEPOSIT AND WHY IS IT NECESSARY?
A deposit is for a tattoo is anywhere between $50 to $100 depending on the size of the tattoo or how long the appointment will be. The deposit goes credited to the last session of your tattoo (If you have a tattoo that is only one session, it will be applied to that session). The purpose of it is to ensure your time in my busy schedule and also ensures that you're committed to the piece you're interested getting.

I do not set appointments without a deposit.  The deposit is not refundable, but can be transferable to a later date with at least 24 hours notice.
DO YOU TAKE WALK INS OR ARE YOU APPOINTMENT ONLY?
Appointment only. I’m normally booked out anywhere between a 2 to 3 months at a time. Please contact me ahead of time to book time with me.
HOW DO YOU PRICE YOUR TATTOOS?
I normally price my work by the hour. I charge $125/hour of time spent needle-to-skin (meaning I price based off machine run-time time. The timer is only clocking the time I have the machine running, it doesn’t tally design, prep time, bathroom breaks, food runs or cigarette breaks.) I personally feel it’s the most honest way to price my work so I’m not undercharging myself or overcharging my clients.

If  the piece is something I know I can finish in a set amount of time, I'll be able to give you more of a ballpark price, otherwise I do not give set prices. I normally do large-scale work and it's difficult to put prices on larger work because you never know how long it'll take to get done. I've done some half sleeves that take 5 hours start to finish, and I've done some half-sleeves that take up to 15 hours. It all really depends on the design, the size, color, amount of detail etc. Every piece is always different; therefore there is no set price for "a whole sleeve."
DO YOU DRAW UP YOUR DESIGNS AHEAD OF TIME?
I generally like to draw the piece with the client present. It gives me the opportunity to go back and forth with the idea and clarify any questions about details in the design and allows us to both be on the same page with the direction the design is going. We build the piece together. Nine times out of ten, when I make a design ahead of time there are always changes made to the design. Sometimes, it's a few minor tweaks, other times it'll be back to the drawing board and I'll have to scrap the design and the hours of drawing go to waste.
THIS IS MY FIRST TATTOO, WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
There’s a Buzzfeed Article I read a few years ago that is actually very informative in context of how to prepare and what to expect. It is called:

25 Things You Should Know Before Getting Your Next Tattoo

If this isn't your first tattoo, and you haven't read this before, It doesn’t hurt to read
Can i get tattooed being under 18?
Of course! You'll have to print out the Florida Department of Health Consent to Tattoo Minor Form and have it signed in front of a Notary with your Legal Guardian present.  After you have it Signed and Notarized, bring it to the shop along with your Legal Guardian (They will need to be present for you to be tattooed) on the day of your appointment.
do you do cover-ups?
Answer to question 9
How do i take care of my tattoos
I heal a majority of my work with Saniderm and honestly wouldn’t recommend healing it any other way. I normally provide a descriptive explanation of how it works and how to use it after our session, but it if you’d like to learn more, be sure to visit their website:  www.saniderm.com
how long do i wait between sessions
Average healing time after a tattoo usually takes anywhere between a week and a half to 3 weeks. The sooner you can book your next appointment the better. Momentum is everything in building a tattoo. I've had a number of different clients who come back to finish a piece they began more than 6 months ago and it becomes a hassle to try and adapt a previous design to the current style you're developing, sometimes I wont even remember where to pick up or where I left off.  Don't start a project you don't intend to finish anytime soon. I would rather you wait and budget the tattoo properly in order to do the tattoo in the right timing.
