About caRLOS qUEVEDO

ABout the Artist:

Hi, My name is Carlos Quevedo (also known as earo35) I am a professional tattoo artist at 3 Layers Deep in Coral Springs, FLorida:

I started tattooing in December of 2010.  A good friend of mine was living with a tattoo artist at the time and  had convinced me to buy a tattoo machine and promised to teach me everything he had learned from doing a few tattoos himself. Long story short, he knew next-to-nothing about tattooing and it took several hours for me to even figure out how to tune a tattoo machine and set up a Needle. I scratched a shaky hand-drawn Aquabat onto his shoulder that night and went home very unsatisfied with the results of my first tattoo, but from that moment on, I did everything in my power to soak up as much information, and learn as much as I possibly could about tattooing!
For several years I would tattoo small pieces on friends and acquaintances and in each piece, learned a tiny bit of crucial information that I would put into future tattoos. I watched Youtube videos, documentaries, seminars, and read as much information I could get my hands on to learn as much as I could about sterilization, equipment, machines, inks, supplies to try and perfect the craft I was attempting to learn on my own.  I never had the opportunity to apprentice, I was balancing a full-time job and tattooing on the side as a hobby until I started to impress people with the work I was putting out.  My clientele base was becoming more demanding, and I was no longer able to juggle the 60-hour work week and tattoo on the side 3 or 4 days out of the week. It was time for a change.
In April of 2015 I started tattooing at 3 Layers Deep. That's when the flood gates opened. From watching all of the other artists working together and learning from each other, I basically took off running with all the previous knowledge and all the new tips, trick, techniques and advice I was getting. There is no better way to learn art than to surround yourself  with other artists striving to better themselves in their craft.
I do not specialize in any particular style of tattooing. I like to be as versatile as possible to be able to continue learning, and to be ready to take on any project thrown my way.
I naturally steer toward more of an Illustrative style of tattooing. I am also sought out for my Mandalas and Geometry/Linework pieces, but I am always open to trying different styles of tattooing to keep the creativity flowing and letting my work evolve.
